Professional Dependable Quality

THE CONTROL ROOM:
•32 channel mixer bringing the signals into either to the 24 channel digital converters to the computer or straight to the 24 track reel to reel tape machine.
•A rack of compressors, pre-amps, limiters, and effects help to control and modify sound for recording.
•The software of choice is Nuendo (competitor to Pro Tools) because Steinberg created VST and perfected the recording software to efficiently handle large projects using it's 32 bit floating. This is a high end program well worth the $1800 charged.
•3 different monitors are used (Yamaha NS-10s, Mackie 824s w/sub, and Tannoy).
•The mix is achieved within Nuendo then mastered digitally using Sony's Sound Forge, or sent out to the 1/2" for the analog touch.
•If there are any purist out there, the 24 tracks on 2" tape can be mixed (automated) using Ultramix straight to the 1/2" tape.  This can then either be sent into the computer for mastering or prepped for vinyl manufacturing!
•32 Tracks of ADATs where provided your tapes stay in sync, can be converted to WAV files for mixing or storage.
•Alesis HD24 XT - if your music is on one of those hard drives (if they still work), can be transferred
•DAT machines - two track digital recordings on the mini-tapes
•8 Tracks of reel to reel
•2 Track master deck for 1/4" tape
•2 track consumer craig (1/4 tape slow speed)
•2 track cassette

THE STUDIO and TRACKING:
•Microphones: Neumann, Sennheiser, Shure, AKG, Audio Technica, Royer, GT, and others including tube.
•Tube preamps, Tube compressors, and high end compressors such as Universal Audio help shape a great sound.
•Instruments available include drums, percussion, guitars, basses (4 and 5 string), 88-key (weighted) keyboard, dedicated Hammond Organ, and synth modules.
•Amps are generally (like guitars) brought in.  But Line 6 offers a large assortment of amp simulators that are either direct connected or amped to a Laney.  The twin speaker amp by Roland is a fantastic piece that is quite loud.  Both speakers in chorus mode can be miked for a stereo effect
•Sampler by Yamaha has many interesting ways to shape sound imported for performance in a recording.
