Recording and producing bands
This is our number one focus - PRODUCTION.
Without proper production, projects either don't get
finished or they have an amateur result that no one
takes seriously. As far as the size of our
capabilities, whether it's a 2 or 15 piece band , Pyramid can handle
the task efficiently. We record 24 tracks
simultaneously
rather than 4-8 at a time.
Recording & producing single artist
From simple recordings (live guitar/keyboard with
vocal), to full production CDs Pyramid has what you
need to get the job done without worrying about all
the technical issues that go with recording and
production. The producer/engineer helps you get
the most from your talent.
Beat creation
Using loop software, samplers, and studio gear, we can
produce beats that work well with R&B, Rap, and
Poetry.
Recording Vocals: Singing, spoken word, commercials,
Rap
Using over $10k recording chain of gear (from microphone
to converters), we get the most from your voice!
Pitch correction has been a specialty at Pyramid going
back to 1998 making corrections very transparent.
Mixing:
Not only do we mix our own recordings, but mix
projects recorded in other studios. The quality
depends on what equipment and recording methods were
used.
Mastering:
We mainly master to our own mixes since it is preferable
to go back into a mix to correct issues mastering
can't many times. When possible, music digitally
recorded is sent into the 1/2" tape machine to
use the benefits that analog tape provide music.
Digital mastering includes: equalization, intro/outros,
multi-band compression of peaking frequencies,
editing, compression (proper loudness for the genre),
and bit-slapping™!
Editing and special
operations:
Normal editing of course with music, but many
interesting projects such as: clean up audio for
private investigators, attorneys, court stenographers,
Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVP), etc to enhance
audio.
Transfers: Getting audio
out trapped in machines,
vinyl, and tape to CD
DAT, ADATs, cassettes, mini cassettes, records, MINI
DV, 1/8" tape, 1/4" Tape, 1/2" tape,
2" tape, (2, 4, 8, 24 tracks), VHS, DVD, and many
machines used to record audio, but make it tough to
export it for further use.
Video:
Taping of events, Video production, Video Transfers to
DVD, PAL videos to DVD.
Internet transfers:
Using the Internet, many projects were mixed at
Pyramid, with the customers downloading the music
uploaded for their review. Also, projects
recorded in places as far away as Germany used Pyramid
to record individuals here with an upload (full WAV
files) for them to insert into the songs.
Phone patch
service for remote producers:
We
connect anyone, anywhere to the mixing board via phone
line so they can communicate with the person recording
in real time. This allows a producer to hear and
speak with the talent remotely.
